Who am I?

I am a board-certified family medicine physician. I obtained my MD at South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL. 2017

I completed my family medicine residency at Palmetto Health (now Prisma Health) Family Medicine Residency in Columbia, SC. 2020

After residency, I cared for patients in an outpatient clinic in SC. 2020-2022

After I had my first child, I returned to AL. I worked as faculty at the new, now-closed Jackson Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Montgomery, where I cared for patients in the hospital and in the residency clinic. 2023-2026

I have lived in Prattville since 2022 with my husband and daughter.

What is direct primary care?

Autonomy, Accessibility, Transparency

A direct relationship with the physician. No middle man. It is a model that allows for simplicity and accessibility. It allows a physician to operate with a reasonable patient panel—my goal is 250 patients. (Most primary care physicians carry 2,000-patient panels—which is why you barely spend any time with them.)

It is a membership-based model with unlimited access to the physician for a monthly subscription fee.

How much is the monthly membership?

The fee ranges per region. In Alabama, we’re averaging between $89-125/mo. I’m still considering. What do you think is reasonable?

Good news: HMO funds can now be used towards DPC membership fees.

Can I keep my insurance?

Of course! I just won’t bill them. You can still use your insurance for medications, labs/diagnostics, referrals, hospitalizations.
